Association of Pakistani-Descent Gastroenterologists of North America (APGNA) was founded in July, 2014 in Washington D.C. at annual APPNA annual summer convention. APGNA constitution was approved in October, 2014. The first general bodymeeting unanimously elected Dr Ghulam Mujtaba as first and founding President for 2015 with Dr. Waseem Aziz President-elect, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq as a General Secretary, Dr. Mohammad Asim as Treasurer and Dr.Arif Muslim as an Executive director. Council members were Asif Virk and Hashim B Nemat. The second meeting of APGNA was held in Orlando, Florida at APPNA summer convention in August, 2015.
