APGNA members get connected with all other gastroenterologists of Pakistani origin in United States and gastroenterologists working in Pakistan.
The organization will provide you a platform to participate and organize the educational seminars, workshops and CME activities in United States during APPNA meetings and in Pakistani medical institutions.
APGNA (Association of Pakistani-Descent Gastroenterologists of North America) is a non-profit, professional organization which is incorporated in United States and it does not have any political affiliations.
To enhance medical education:
Arrangement of educational seminars, live lectures and workshops to enhance gastroenterology and hepatology related medication education in United states and Pakistan
To Assist young physicians:
Assisting young physicians to enter into and mastering the skills in gastroenterology training programs
To establish a formal forum:
In decision making, exchange of ideas, sharing medical knowledge and to seek expert opinion from fellow colleagues
To encourage research and scholarship:
To facilitate research activities and provide guidance for scholarship for young physicians and medical students
To actively participate:
An organized presence and Encouraging the fellow members to participate in national and internal scientific meetings of gastroenterology (ACG, DDW, AASLD etc.) and APPNA scientific sessions.

Active Member
Active membership in APGNA shall be open to any physician of Pakistani descent who has graduated from a recognized medical, osteopathic school in Pakistan or United States and Canada or who has graduated from a WHO recognized institution anywhere in the world. To be eligible for active membership in the Association, a physician must hold an un-revoked license in North America and / or involved in Academics, Medical Research or engaged in any field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology related diseases in North America, and complies with all provisions of the constitution and the Bylaws of this Association.
Associate Member
Nurses, technicians and physician extenders who have graduated from a recognized school of nursing and biomedical sciences in Pakistan or any one of Pakistani descent, who graduated from a corresponding recognized institution anywhere in the world.
Physicians-In-Training
In an approved fellowship program in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, shall provide written proof of being enrolled in an approved training program. They will be exempt from paying annual dues and they will have no right to vote or hold office in the Association.
Emeritus Members
Shall be dues exempt, shall have no right to vote, and shall hold no office. They may, however, be appointed as members in committees or task forces, etc.
Honorary Members
The Association may elect as an honorary member any person distinguished for services or attainments in medicine or the allied sciences, or who has rendered other services of unusual value to the Association or humanity.
